This technical assistance supports long-term conservation and ecosystem management of coral reefs and other coastal and marine resources in the Southeast Asian Coral Triangle.
The scope includes policy and institutional strengthening, climate-resilient fisheries and marine ecosystems, research to improve monitoring and enforcement, measures addressing illegal fishing, sustainable financing for marine protected areas, and coordinated project management.
Description of Assignment:
This TA will strengthen the existing foundation to support the long-term conservation and management of coral reef ecosystems and other coastal and marine resources in the Southeast Asian part of the Coral Triangle.
- Strengthening policies and institutions for sustainable fisheries, coastal and marine resource management in CTI Southeast Asia;
- Resilient fisheries, coastal and marine resource systems, MPAs, and ecosystems related to the impacts of climate change and other threats;
- Additional research findings to improve monitoring, control and surveillance (MCS) in implementing ecosystem and biodiversity-based management systems to enforce regulations and control illegal fishing;
- Sustainable financing and management of DPL and other coastal and marine resource management measures, and
- Coordinated and harmonious project management.
