Technical Assistance for Strengthening the Implementation of an Integrated Health Information System in NTTPenyediaan Bantuan Teknis untuk Pemantapan Pelaksanaan Sistem Informasi Kesehatan Daerah (SIKDA Terpadu)

This assignment develops and strengthens the regional health information system (SIKDA) in East Nusa Tenggara. It supports integrated information management across the province, regencies and cities, and community health centres, with attention to maternal and newborn health.

The Technical Assistance for Strengthening the Implementation of an Integrated Health Information System in NTT was undertaken within the Australia Indonesia Partnership for Maternal and Neonatal Health (AIPMNH), managed by Coffey International Development Pty Ltd on behalf of the Australian Government. AIPMNH worked with the Government of Indonesia and provincial and district institutions in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) to strengthen health systems and improve maternal and neonatal health outcomes.

A key initiative under the programme was strengthening the Regional Health Information System (Sistem Informasi Kesehatan Daerah/SIKDA NTT). The system was designed to improve the collection, consolidation, reporting, and use of health information while reducing fragmented and repetitive reporting requirements at health facilities. Reporting formats were streamlined through a “one-door” approach, enabling health data to be managed in a more integrated and consistent manner.

Implementation combined manual and electronic reporting systems to accommodate differences in infrastructure, electricity, internet connectivity, and institutional capacity across NTT. Support included training for health personnel, technical assistance to Puskesmas, provision of supporting equipment and reporting tools, and monitoring and evaluation of SIKDA implementation.

Through this assignment, MADEP contributed to strengthening health information management and institutional capacity, supporting more accurate and timely health reporting and improving the availability of information for health planning, monitoring, and evidence-based decision-making.
