This study examines task shifting in health services in remote, border and island areas and its relationship to workforce career development.
The scope considers local service standards and the potential transfer of selected responsibilities between doctors, nurses and midwives, as well as between health workers and community cadres. It develops a framework to guide implementation in response to workforce shortages, distribution problems and retention challenges.
Description of Assignment:
Health development needs to be supported by sufficient health workers, both in quantity, type, and quality. The challenges faced, particularly in remote, border, and island areas (DTPK), are the availability and equitable distribution of health workers in health care facilities (fasyankes), particularly for certain strategic health workers. This is due to the lack of specific policies for remote, border, and island areas (DTPK), a lack of support for work facilities, social facilities, and incentives, difficult geographic conditions, and barrier to entry. As a result, the retention of health workers is low. In facing this problem, it is necessary to consider the delegation of tasks/competencies & authority (task shifting) from one type of energy to another.
Obtaining the needs assessment document task shifting between types of personnel in the provision of health services in remote, border, and island areas (DTPK) and their relationship to the career development of health workers in remote, border, and island areas (DTPK). The specific objectives are:
- Reviewing health service standards in remote, border and island areas (DTPK) according to regional conditions.
- Arranging needs task shifting from doctors to nurses and its relationship with the career development of health workers in remote, border and island areas (DTPK).
- Arranging needs task shifting from doctors to midwives and its relationship with the career development of health workers in remote, border and island areas (DTPK).
- Arranging needs task shifting from midwives to nurses and its relationship with the career development of health workers in remote, border and island areas (DTPK).
- Arranging needs task shifting from nurses to midwives and its relationship with the career development of health workers in remote, border and island areas (DTPK).
- Arranging needs task shifting from medical and non-medical health workers to non-health workers (cadres) and its Relationship with the Career Development of Non-Health Workers (cadres) in Remote, Border and Island Areas (DTPK).
- Develop a framework of guidelines (rules of the game) for implementation task shifting.
